We have amassed a good deal of physical media over the course of the society's 35+ year history and this is currently stored in a series of boxes collectively known as 'The Archive'.
The main problem is that with the archive stored in just one place (often under people's bed) people who might benefit from the knowledge contained in it, interested in seeing old recordings, or looking for some nostalgia from their time in the society are unable to do so.
The obvious solution is to move the archive online (in the sense of being accessible by a computer, not necessarily only on the internet).
Video recordings
Audio recordings
We have audio recordings in various formats (including reel-to-reel tape!). JMP has the technology to digitise almost every format including reel-to-reel (thanks to his Dad).
Audio highlights could be released on the website as MP3 files. Whole shows should take less than 100MB when compressed and so could be distributed online (maybe via BitTorrent, with suitable help given to those unfamiliar with the protocol)
